Junior BJJ.

Real technique. Real standards. A structured pathway from first guard pass to first competition — built for kids ready to take Jiu Jitsu seriously.

Who it's for

For the kid ready to train like a martial artist.

Junior BJJ is built for 7 to 13-year-olds who are ready for real Jiu Jitsu — structured technique, live drilling, and a clear progression system. Beginners are welcome. So are kids coming up from Little Champs. Two levels mean your child is always challenged, never left behind.

What they'll develop

  • Real technique, properly taughtFundamental positions, submissions, escapes, and transitions — the building blocks of a complete Jiu Jitsu game.
  • Physical & mental resilienceStrength, agility, and the calm focus that comes from learning to solve problems under pressure.
  • Leadership & teamworkTraining with partners. Helping each other. Learning to lead by example on the mat and off it.
  • A pathway to competitionFor kids who want it, a clear route into local and regional tournaments — with proper preparation and support.

Class format.

Two levels. One Pathway.

Junior BJJ runs in two structured levels based on experience and progression — not age alone. Level 1 builds the fundamentals: positions, movement, and foundational technique. Level 2 introduces live drilling, advanced positions, and an introduction to sparring in a controlled environment. Classes run 60 minutes, up to four times a week depending on level. Your child's coach will recommend the right level after their trial class.

Trial classes are free. Gi (uniform) provided for the first class.

Parents ask

Frequently asked questions.

Absolutely. Level 1 is designed for beginners. Many of our strongest Junior BJJ students started with zero experience. The first class is free, and the coach will introduce them to the basics at a pace that matches their confidence.

Sparring is introduced gradually and always under supervision. In Level 1, the focus is on drilling and positional training — not free sparring. In Level 2, live rolling is introduced with strict safety protocols, controlled intensity, and partner matching based on experience and size.

Level 1 builds the foundation — positions, movement, basic submissions and escapes. Level 2 adds complexity: more advanced techniques, live drilling, and controlled sparring. Progression between levels is based on skill and readiness, not age. Coaches decide when a student is ready to move up.

No. Competition is optional at Entropy. Some kids love it and thrive in tournaments — others prefer to train purely for technique, confidence, and fitness. Both paths are equally respected here.

Two classes a week is a strong starting point for meaningful progress. Kids who attend three to four classes a week will progress noticeably faster — but consistency matters more than frequency. A child training twice a week every week will develop better than one who trains four times one week and then disappears for a month.

Completely normal — most kids feel it. The best thing is to book the free trial and let them experience the environment without commitment. Our Level 1 class is designed to welcome nervous beginners. Once they see other kids their age, meet the coaches, and try a few drills, most nerves disappear within the first 15 minutes.
